With more than 60 years of service across aged care, community care, retirement communities and affordable housing, Sundale empowers Queenslanders to live their best lives — and that includes our team members.

We’re now seeking a highly capable and commercially astute Procurement Manager to join our Sunshine Coast–based team and lead Sundale’s procurement function across multiple sites. This is a critical leadership role for a confident procurement professional who can partner closely with the Chief Financial Officer and operational leaders to uplift our Procurement Framework and governance, strengthen supplier and contract performance, and embed cost‑conscious, value‑driven financial practices that deliver measurable value‑for‑money outcomes for our residents, clients and organisation.

Why Sundale?

At Sundale, we live by our values:

  • Care – Creating quality and meaningful experiences for everyone in the Sundale community
  • Connection – Listening and responding to the needs of others
  • Creativity – Finding better, innovative ways to do things and be part of our community

We offer a supportive, people‑first workplace where your contribution truly matters.

About the role

As Procurement Manager, you’ll lead a professional, compliant purchasing function that delivers value for money and outstanding stakeholder satisfaction. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will manage and develop a small team and improve the systems, processes and contracts that underpin Sundale’s day‑to‑day purchasing operations and forward inventory needs.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the Procurement Framework & Governance: design, embed and continuously improve a fit‑for‑purpose procurement framework that drives transparent, compliant and value‑driven decisions.
  • Financial stewardship: champion cost‑conscious, whole‑of‑life and value‑for‑money outcomes; set buyer goals and levers that improve commercial results.
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contracting strategies; strengthen vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business.
  • Lead supplier selection, negotiations and contract management; resolve vendor issues and ensure contracted services meet agreed standards.
  • Maintain supplier databases, purchase records and documentation; oversee inventory control and the contracted maintenance of equipment and the vehicle fleet.
  • Prepare cost estimates, manage budgets and drive continuous improvement
  • Draft and maintain the Procurement & Contract Management Operations Manual; partner with internal quality/risk to ensure documents and policies are controlled and followed.
  • Build organisational capability: train managers and teams in purchasing processes and system use; lead and develop your team through regular coaching and performance management.

What you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated experience leading, developing and improving a Procurement Framework, Governance structure and financial practices that enable positive financial stewardship and cost‑conscious, value‑driven decision making
  • 5+ years’ senior procurement management experience with strong supply chain and inventory knowledge.
  • Advanced negotiation, stakeholder management, communication and analytical skills; strong planning and organisational capability; able to work independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and purchasing software; aged care compliance knowledge desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, logistics, supply chain or equivalent senior procurement experience.
  • ASCI certification desirable.
