Your Purpose:

We’re on the lookout for experienced Grounds Maintenance Workers and multi-skilled Handypersons to join our friendly team at our Palmwoods Retirement Community.

In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining our stunning gardens and outdoor spaces, as well as supporting general maintenance tasks across the village. If you’ve got a green thumb, a practical mindset, and take pride in your work, we’d love to hear from you.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Grounds & Garden Maintenance: Keep our lawns, gardens, and outdoor areas looking their best.
  • General Repairs: Tackle odd jobs and minor repairs around the facility.
  • Maintenance Support: Conduct inspections and carry out routine maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to Requests: Address maintenance issues promptly and professionally.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Keep accurate records and follow safety standards.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Solid experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or gardening.
  • Bonus if you’ve got handyperson or trade skills (e.g. carpentry, minor plumbing, etc.).
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and a genuine care for the environment and community.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current QLD Driver’s Licence
  • National Police Check (we will organise)
  • Pre-employment medical clearance
  • Relevant trade or horticulture qualifications (desirable)
  • Previous experience in a similar role
