Your Purpose:

As a Carer, you will be responsible for delivering safe and effective care under supervision, assisting residents with daily living activities, and supporting their emotional needs. Your role will involve ensuring that care practices meet the highest standards and that residents maintain an optimal level of independence.

Job Description

What You’ll Do:

  • Daily Living Assistance: Provide support with personal care, laundry, food service, and cleaning tasks that reflect residents' needs and preferences.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of residents' care, ensuring compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards.
  • Respect and Dignity: Uphold residents' independence, privacy, and dignity in all interactions, in line with Sundale's policies and residents' rights.
  • Health and Safety: Deliver care in a manner that incorporates Infection Control and Work, Health and Safety principles.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate actively in workgroup meetings and support feedback systems to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Meal Services: Ensure timely, nutritious, and hygienic meal and drink delivery in accordance with standards and regulations.
  • Team Contribution: Work productively as part of a team, assisting with various activities beyond daily living support.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Practical experience in personal care, handling linen/clothing, food service, and cleaning duties.
  • Knowledge of infection control, H.A.C.C.P. procedures, and Work Health and Safety principles.
  • Understanding of the aging process and dementia.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with effective written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work within a flexible team environment and maintain positive relationships with consumers, team members, and health professionals.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality services in an aged care setting.
  • Resilience and a genuine passion for aged care services.

Essential Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 1 year of previous experience as a Disability Support Worker/ Personal Care Attendant in aged care, disability, home & community care is a must.
  • Police Check
  • Pre-employment medical assessment

Shift Availability

Permanent Part-time positions available. Working across Monday to Sunday with morning, afternoon and night shifts available.
